The Ondo State Police Command is investigating the circumstances that led to the death of a middle-aged man and his girlfriend in the state.
The deceased identified as Eric and his yet-to-be identified girlfriend reportedly found dead at a new apartment located at Ayeyemi area of Ondo town, Ondo State on Thursday.
Sources said the lifeless bodies of the ‘Romeo and Juliet” were found stuck together in a sexual position, indicating that they were having sex before the incident happened.
They were said to have been separated by a doctor but they had died.
The cause of their death could not be ascertained as at press. However it was learnt that the two lovers were electrocuted during their sexual connection.
A source hinted that the generator was running on the premises of the new apartment while a phone was seeing charging on a socket placed on the bed, stressing that it may likely be possible that they had contact with a naked wire, resulting in their electrocution.
Another source revealed that the relatives of of the deceased found them dead when they checked on them after they didn’t answer their phone calls the following day.
It added that they looked through the window, spotted the bodies, and broke down the door to enter.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident
She said investigation had commenced into the incident.
The police spokesperson disclosed that the man and the woman are lovers who were known by both their relatives.
Odunlami disclosed that they died in the room but not stuck together saying” We are yet to know the cause of their death, but investigation had commenced in earnest
