The leader of the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), Chief Ralph Ueazuruike has said that the actualization of Igbo presidency in 2023 will not stop the agitation for the actualization of Biafran State.
Addressing a press conference in Owerri Imo state capital, Uwazuruike noted that for the Igbos to have their own entity, Biafran State must be actualized
Worried about the unwarranted killings and kidnappings in the South East geo- political zone, Chief Uwazuruike called on the governors of the zone to retrieve the recently formed Eastern Security Network (ESN) from Mr Nnamdi KANU the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra ( IPOB)
According to him, ” the Governors should take over the security out fit and package it very well to the benefit of the Igbo Nation”
He however accused the IPOB leader of inducing violence in Orlu in Imo State, Obigbo in Rivers State and Enugu in Enugu State through the security network
Chief Uwazuruike believed that the security out fit is involved in the killings and wanton distraction of life and property in Orlu and it’s environs
He insisted that in as much as the ESN is working for the protection of the life and property of the people of the region, it has to operate within the ambits of the law
Chief Uwazuruike, visibly worried, stated that he began the struggle for the creation of the state of Biafra for the good of the Igbo nation
He regretted that some power thirsty politicians among the masses used the gullible ones to foment trouble in parts of the zone
According to him ” today, many people have been killed by ourselves because of our bring in soldiers to kill our people in Orlu and it’s environs
He however denounced what he described as unwarranted mischief and humiliation being meted out to the Igbos and their leaders and the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo and the Governors of the south east zone
Uwazuruike warned that the unholy situation if not checked might spell doom for the Igbo Nation
According to him ” threats are every where but the IPOB know that they can not defeat Nigeria as a country in a war but will only run to cause trouble and mayhem for their own selfish interest “
He however commended Imo state Governor Hope Uzodimma and the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wine for their intervention in the crisis in Orlu in Imo state and Obigbo in Rivers State
According to him these crisis were caused by the members of.the IPOB saying that ” all south east governors should rise up to ensure that the region is not again turned in to a theater of warriors
